Story: Pepper was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Pepper is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Pepper is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Pepper will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!

What my foster says: Pepper is a very good girl! She is very smart and picked up on my cues and routines quickly. She’s potty trained and will go to the door when she needs to go outside. She sleeps every night all night long (10pm-6am) in a crate in my bedroom. Pepper loves long walks! We walked at least 5 miles every day, often meeting up with a friend and their dog. Pepper was in heaven walking through wooded trails and having a buddy. She is the very best companion to take on a hike! She is wonderful in the car. She is hesitant about getting in, but she settles quickly and is a quiet passenger. She loves to cuddle on the couch next to her person. She loves the attention of kids and did well with my two (ages 14 and 11). She’ll make her future family very happy!

The fee to adopt Pepper is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines.
